Our partner is building 230 ‘pre-sold’ homes in Natal, north east Brazil to service a portion of the demand of 65,000 Brazilian nationals currently on the Minha Casa, Minha Vida waiting list in the region. Each house is around 43 square meters on a 126 square meter plot with 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom and a garden.

With such huge waiting lists the demand for these properties is very high, however the government sets the prices so that those successful applicants on the waiting list are guaranteed an affordable home with finance in place by Caixa Bank.

Guaranteed exit strategy in 12 months with 15% return

So how does the investment work? The price of each home in the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program is fixed at £20,125 for a completed fully furnished house. The developer uses funding from private investors to build the properties at a price of £17,500 and returns the total funds plus 15% in 12 months time. This provides a substantial return for the investor and a secure source of funding for the developer.

To provide investors with security all funds are held in a UK Escrow account by Lloyds TSB in London. The funds are released to the developer at the various stages of construction. Further to this the developer is a UK registered company with offices in Natal, London, Toronto and Singapore with a exceptional reputation in the Minha Casa, Minha Vida Social Housing Program.
